Shimmer and Shine Halloween Crafts

Ready to Shimmer and Shine on this Halloween Season?  To really elevate your Halloween, I created two fun crafts for our Shimmer and Shine On Party (link to the blog here)  in collaboration with Nickelodeon #HalloweenWithNick🎃: 1) Hashtag Pumpkins and 2) Paper Wish Makers.

Both of these crafts are fun to do with your kids and only require a few supplies that can easily be picked up at a local craft store, so you can get crafting!

  1. Shimmer and Shine “Hashtag Pumpkins”

Hashtag Pumpkin Crafts for Halloween

We all speak in hashtags these days, so I thought it would be fun to decorate pumpkins and have them speak in hashtags too!  This craft is really fun and easy, and fun for your kids to join in.

Supplies:

Craft Pumpkins (we used two sizes) or real pumpkins

Paintbrushes

Paint

Sticker letters

Decoration (we chose gems and a few Halloween stickers)

Paint pumpkins (if using real pumpkins, clean the surface so paint can be applied nicely).  We used two coats of paint on each pumpkin.  When dry, apply sticker letters to the pumpkin in fun sayings like #Shimmer, #Shine and #Sparkle for the Shimmer and Shine theme and for Halloween #Boo and #HappyHalloween.

I also made a #xoRachelPitzel pumpkin in my brand colors too.  Be creative and have fun with this craft!

  1. Shimmer and Shine “Wish Makers”

Who remembers paper fortune tellers from their childhood?  This child of the 80’s is raising her hand over here!  This was one of my favorite games as a child, so it was fun to bring back and make it modern for 2017 with a fun Shimmer and Shine theme aka “Wish Makers”.  Since Shimmer and Shine are genies, this craft is perfect for them!

Supplies:

White paper

Printer

Scissors

Gems

This craft is as easy as it gets, because well, an 8 year old could make this!  Follow this easy step-by-step guide on how to make the paper “Wish Maker”.

Print your favorite Shimmer and Shine images (adorable options available here).  Your child can help you pick their favorite.  Make sure to size the printables for the size of your Wish Maker (just change the % scaling when you are on the printer preference page).

I made two paper Wish Makers, one character themed with more characters and gems on the inside and one location themed, with characters and gems on the inside.

For the “fortune” I wrote “trick” or “treat.”  The treats I used were Halloween donuts, a Shimmer and Shine Treasure Dress Up Trunk, Shimmer and Shine Band Aids (because we allllll know how much kids LOVE band-aids!), Shimmer and Shine: The Magical Pets of Zahramay Falls DVD and Shimmer and Shine All Bottled Up Book.
