How to Get the Best Photos at Most Instagramed Place in 2017….Disneyland!

CONGRATULATIONS to Disneyland on being named the most Instagrammed location of 2017!  As the most magical place on earth, Disneyland is easily the most Instagrammable place because almost every spot is simply stunning.

To celebrate with Disneyland, Harper and I are sharing the most Instagrammable locations at Disneyland and California Adventure.

Even better – So Cal Residents can now SAVE on park tickets with the following deals:

2-Day Tickets

3-Day Tickets

These tickets are valid January 8 through May 24, 2018, excluding the following blockout dates: March 23 through April 8, 2018. Purchase from January 8 through May 21, 2018. Tickets expire on May 24, 2018.

Also, So Cal Resident passes are now accepted in the parks.  January and February are two of my favorite months to visit the park because it’s a little less crowded and you can do more in less time!

And now onto our favorite spots for Instagram Photos:

The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough

The front of the castle has gorgeous pink and blue tones (my favorite colors for Instagram photos!) along with the full castle and a gorgeous drawbridge entrance.  During the holidays, the castle is covered in snow!

The back of the Castle is also a gorgeous place to take photos with beautiful architectural details.  I highly suggest shooting up to get the full castle in the photo.  In order to get this shot, you will want to lean forward, otherwise you can appear wider than you are when shooting up.

Ask the person taking the photo to lean or kneel down and angle the camera up to get the full castle in frame.

If you have followed me for any appreciable amount of time, you know we loveeeee Disneyland.  Growing up in Southern California only 40 minutes away from the park, I went to the park often as a little girl.  And my memories in the park are some of my favorites from my childhood.

One of the things I looked forward to most when I was pregnant with both kids was taking them to the Disney Parks.  Watching your kids eyes come alive and twinkle with fairytales coming to life before their very eyes, well, it’s nothing short of magical. Right?

Next up, walk to the carrousel

King Aurthur Carrousel

On the Carrousel you can stand but you have to stand in between two horses, and you are supposed to be forward-facing.  This will require you to either stand with your feet facing forward and turn your body around to shoot, or sit on a horse and shoot backward.

I also get great pictures when I first place Harper on the horse closest to the side and quickly shoot or when I sit on the second horse to the outside and shoot her from that direction.  Note you will want to wait until you have the better lighting, which is usually when the Carrousel is in front of the castle. However, this will change depending on the placement of the sun and the time of day.

The It’s A Small World Wall

Right across from It’s A Small World is probably the most famous wall ever posted on Instagram.

It’s located directly across from the store at the exit of It’s A Small World.  And it’s often completely clear of people since it is situated a few yards back from a main walking path, making it the ideal place to take photos!

The Mad Hatter Teacups

Whether you choose to take photos on the ride or in the tea cup that’s literally there just for photos or little kids to play in, the Tea Cups always make a gorgeous photo!

I also love the Dumbo elephant situated outside the ride close to Casey Junior Railroad for photos.  Dumbo is currently closed for refurbishment, but it should be opened soon!

In front of Tomorrowland

In between the Sleeping Beauty Castle and Tomorrowland are some ponds with water where you can often spot ducks, and some great walking paths that are amazing for photos!  I love pictures with the Astro Orbiter in the background, as the shapes in the ride are so fascinating!  The path is also meandering, making for great photos!

California Adventure

Moving over to California Adventure, we love taking photos in front of the gorgeous Ferris Wheel with the giant Mickey.  It instantly puts you in a great mood when you see this Ferris Wheel, right?

And in super exciting news, this entire area is getting a huge makeover!

Opening in Summer 2018, the new Pixar Pier is going to be absolutely amazing!  To celebrate, Disneyland is launching Pixar Fest in April 2018.  Mark your calendars, as you won’t want to miss it!

And here Harper and I are wearing Woody and Buzzlightyear Hats!

Flo’s V8 Cafe

One of my favorite spots for pictures in California Adventure is Flo’s V8 Cafe located in Carsland.  This cafe is architecturally stunning and the bright colors in the neon sign look amazing on Instagram!

Random Magical Walls

I love the random magical walls in the park like this one in between Bippity Boppity Boutique and the Castle

This wall is located right outside Pinocchio’s Daring Journey, located right across from the Carrousel.

Character Meet and Greets

In several locations throughout Disneyland and California Adventure, you can meet characters at designated locations or while they are walking around the park.
